Course Details

Maintenance has evolved through many stages to reach to today's advanced techniques in execution and management.

This course will explain the evolvement of the main maintenance strategies, the philosophy and aspects of each, how and when to be executed, and the management techniques.

The course will also focus on Maintenance Planning and Scheduling as one of the most important elements in advanced maintenance management.

The course is designed to assist maintenance management personnel responsible for delivering maximum reliability and availability of equipment at the lowest possible cost.

The course will present advanced techniques designed to improve the effectiveness of maintenance management activities, to ensure that physical assets perform their required functions, operate reliably, and support corporate goals.

The sessions will focus on the advanced methods and techniques on the most critical aspects of maintenance management such as optimizing maintenance resources, selecting the right maintenance strategy for each asset, analyzing failures, setting and conducting a maintenance plan, planning spare parts, controlling maintenance costs, maximizing maintenance planning effectiveness, and developing the right performance indicators.

Course Objectives:

  • See the big picture (line of sight between maintenance goals and business objectives)
  • Have a new and more in-depth understanding of reliability and maintenance
  • Understand the relation between Maintenance, Reliability, and Asset Management
  • Understand Maintenance Organization Objectives and Challenges
  • Understand the asset lifecycle cost, maintenance cost, and direct and indirect cost
  • Understand main maintenance strategies and the advantages and disadvantages of each
  • Select the most cost-effective maintenance strategy for each asset
  • Carry out risk and failure analysis using techniques and tools such as FMEA, RCM, RCA
  • Understand maintenance planning and scheduling as one of the most important tools for advanced maintenance management
  • Understand how to implement advanced work management processes and techniques
  • Apply spare parts management and inventory optimization techniques
  • Select and effectively use relevant performance indicators

Who Should Attend the Course?

This course is designed for all Maintenance Managers/Engineers, Supervisors and Planning Engineers.  It is also suitable for those who are in operations, engineering and purchasing/materials divisions and who would like to acquire an understanding of how the quality of the maintenance function affects their department, and their organization's bottom line.
