Course Details

As telecom demand soars, service providers in Abu Dhabi and across the UAE are accelerating network convergence and enhancing connectivity for consumers. Fiber-to-the-X (FTTX) and GPON technologies are now central to modern broadband deployment, enabling high-speed, reliable connections across residential, enterprise, and industrial networks.

Our FTTX & GPON Training Course offers engineers, supervisors, and technicians a practical, hands-on experience using real-world field samples and state-of-the-art equipment. Gain advanced knowledge of access networks, network design, fiber cabling, and GPON testing to remain at the forefront of telecom innovation.

Who Should Attend

This course is designed for:

  • OSP & ISP engineers and technicians
  • Telecom supervisors and team leaders
  • IT implementation staff and network designers
  • Fiber optic technicians seeking GPON expertise

Course Objectives

By the end of this course, participants will be able to:

  • Understand FTTX networks and their protocols
  • Identify types of FTTX networks, including FTTH, FTTC, FTTB, and FTTO
  • Install OSP GPON and customer premise cabling efficiently
  • Perform fiber splicing, termination, and testing
  • Acquire detailed knowledge of GPON components and architectures
  • Calculate power and loss budgets accurately
  • Conduct end-to-end GPON network testing
  • Troubleshoot GPON networks and optimize performance
  • Design reliable FTTX networks
  • Prerequisite: Completion of a Fiber Optic Technician course or equivalent knowledge.

Course Outline

The course outline below is structured to give participants a clear, practical understanding of how modern FTTX and GPON networks are designed, installed, tested, and maintained. The topics progress logically from fiber and access network fundamentals to GPON architecture, field installation techniques, testing methods, and troubleshooting practices. Each section reflects real tasks performed on live telecom projects, ensuring learners gain hands-on knowledge that can be applied immediately in OSP, ISP, and customer access network environments across Abu Dhabi and the UAE.
