Course Curriculum
The Honeywell EPKS C300 DCS Training is structured as a practical, project-oriented learning program aligned with real industrial automation workflows. Through a progressive, hands-on curriculum, participants advance from system fundamentals and configuration to PID and cascade control, device control, SFC sequencing, HMI development, and system backup—building the technical competence required to engineer, operate, and maintain Honeywell EPKS C300 systems confidently in live process environments.
Day 1 – Fundamentals & Configuration
- Overview of DCS and Honeywell EPKS
- Introduction to C300 Hardware and Software
- Hardware & Software Communication, including third-party systems
- Server operations: Start & Stop
- Asset creation and license loading
- Opening and navigating Control Studio
- Configuring CPU & interface modules
- Creating digital I/O logic, alarms, and analog I/O assignments
- Developing open-loop and closed-loop logic
Day 2 – PID and Cascade Logic
- Introduction to PID control and applications
- Implementing PID logic, alarms, and trends
- Understanding cascade logic and implementation
- Creating graphics and faceplates for PID and cascade loops
- Using HMI Web Builder to design process visualization
Day 3 – Splitter and Totalizer Configuration
- Splitter logic explanation and implementation
- Alarms, trends, and faceplates for splitter logic
- Totalizer logic configuration, alarms, and HMI graphics
Day 4 – Device Control and SFC
- Device control block configuration for motors and valves
- Alarm, trend, and faceplate creation for device control
- Interlocks and sequential function charts (SFC)
- HMI graphics and alarm/trend configuration for SFC
Day 5 – Logging, Operator Stations, and Backup
- LOG configuration and execution
- Operator station setup and execution
- Project backup and restoration procedures
- Final Q&A and practical assessment

- Prior programming experience with Honeywell systems
